Hydrogen metallurgy is an important technology for promoting the green and low-carbon development of the steel industry, completely solving production pollution and carbon emissions.

Hydrogen steelmaking uses hydrogen gas (H2) instead of carbon monoxide as a reducing agent, and its reduction product is water (H2O) without carbon dioxide emissions, making the ironmaking process green and pollution-free. At present, the average carbon emissions per ton of steel are 1.76 tons. By adopting a natural gas based ironmaking process, carbon emissions per ton of steel can be reduced to 940 kilograms; Using 80% hydrogen and 20% natural gas can reduce the weight to 437 kilograms; If hydrogen is used entirely for steelmaking, zero emissions of carbon dioxide can be achieved.
